The registration form for the 2012-2013 marching band season has been reopened. Now is the opportunity for color guard to register and for anyone who may have missed the last round to hop on board. As always, if you have any questions please contact me. For anyone who hasn't heard, it would appear that South is out of paper. As you can imagine this has made some things a little more difficult as teachers attempt to conserve whatever paper they may have. Do to this I have not printed out schedules and other trip related material. I have, however, updated the calendar with several rehearsals related to the concert and the trip. I should see most students over the course of the day today in order to speak with them concerning the schedule. Please make note of the calendar for May as it is jam packed. For those students attending the trip who need information such as a balance owed, please email me and I will respond with your balance. I have also posted copies of the forms that you need to have filled out under the Letters & Forms tab at the top of the page. If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. The title says it all. Today's parade has been cancelled. Section leaders should be sending the message around. Please do all that yo can to spread the message. A decision will be made about the parade soon. The parade will be postponed if the weather is bad. We will not participate if it is moved. Please check here before you leave. The final push is on to register for the 2012 Screaming Eagle Marching Band. Registration will close just a little over 24 hours from now. Please take a moment to sign up so the drill can be ordered and the new season can get under way. As you should have heard by now, the marching band was asked to participate in the Little League opening day parade in Lincroft. You should have heard from your section leaders or from me in class or FRED Band rehearsal. By this point you should have contacted me if you could not attend. We will meet for the parade at Hilltop Circle at 12:00 noon on Sunday, April 22nd. Please make every effort to transport your own instrument. The parade will step off at 12:30 and we should be wrapped up at the Lincroft Little League Complex by 1:30. Now that the parade and the spring musical have wrapped up, it's time to get back to our normal rehearsal schedule for extra-curricular ensembles. Half Choir and FRED Band will resume Tuesday 3/27 at their normal times. There's not a lot of time until the trip and the spring concert, so please make every effort to attend these last few rehearsals. An added note for Stage Ensemble members: We will rehearse on Wednesday this week and then rehearsals will move to there For anyone interested in knowing where the band will be on Saturday, here is our info for the parade. - All members should meet in the South band room at 8:30am - Once in the city we will be lining up on East 45th Street between 5th and Madison - Our estimated step off is 2pm - The parade will progress down 5th Avenue ending at 79th The district has agreed to pick up the balance of our transportation costs, so the total cost for the parade as been lowered to $30 per student from $55. If you have already made your payments you have a few option. 1. I can return your $30 check and you can pay the new balance of $5 (cash is fine) 2. You can roll your overage into your account to cover the Hershey trip. 3. You can roll your overage into your account to cover Marching Band expenses in the fall.
